You Are The All In All, O' Lord! By Irene Maxiwell

You are the all in all,
you are the ONE in the many,
You are the many in the ONE,
You are all there is that IS!
I am the living truth I am,
I am the living truth You Are,
In this recognition is self-Realization
and also God-realization!

Nostalgia By Jomboree F. Higgins

I cannot build dreams with wooden reality...
the blueprints have suddenly changed,
We're no longer what we used to be.
How can you know how much I hurt
when you will not listen to me?
The ache is deeper than ever I realized
until today,
emptiness has taken over the hot nights;
Our only bond is Suzie-
Suzie of the laughing face and kindergarten enthusiasm.
I want to ask you what happened to forever
and the promises of love,
but i cannot penetrate your walls
to even ask you that.
Are you inside somewhere, John?
Have you learned not to care?
i will understand someday
why i feel wooden now, and why
you constructed barricades!

Without You! (Love, Poetry, and War)

Thursday Short Story Slam Week 29: Dramas and Freedom

Without you,
The time will be dull,
The stove will be cold,
The room will be half full,
and the mind will be empty.
Without you,
No mood to read,
No day is serene,
No food to satisfy the hunger or greed,
and no trees seem green.
Without you,
no hands to shake,
no muffins to bake,
no music to listen,
No words spoken.
Without you,
no tea in the mug,
no fruits in the plate,
no cereal in the bowl,
and always sleep late and get up late!

Follow The Drinking Gourd

Hyde Park Thursday Poets Rally Week 74 (October 4 -October 10)

Follow the drinking gourd,
When the rooster crows and darkness expels,
Follow the drinking gourd,
The chairman is ready to take you to freedom.
The shoulder of the highway makes a mighty resting spot,
The common senses will blaze the trial,
Peg foot, hind feet, marching on,
Follow the drinking gourd.
Now the roadway turns divergent,
There's turnpikes on the way north bound,
The arrow signs reveal the different bound,
Follow the drinking gourd.
