Cold Winter, Hot Minds (Short Story Slam Week 23)

First come clouds of bitterish feelings,
Then it's exploration of anger,
Once a daydream,
Through glittering flirtations,
Distanced friends advance to rebellious lovers,
They like the characters that differ,
They date in orchards of peaches
behind the closed gate,
Her warm eye glow shines like winter fire,
Her breath glides through the words she speaks,
He smells peppermint,
He stares at her chest,
She rests her head against his shoulder,
At the same time,
they stand, hold
each other in arms,
and their lips meet
The past cools off his heated head,
as he smooths his wrinkled paper sheet,
It's raining outside,
He makes a to do list,
then dials her phone number...

We Touch Down (For The Father of My Kids)

 Of mathematician's formulas-
square roots, factors, and subtractions
spread-my mind
Goes fluttering,
backstage, I lost
under stars' blurring eyes.
Phone rings like a siren,
The nosy woman places her hands on keys
to disturb our time.
Saying 'NO" firmly to her,
He undress himself quickly,
in the dark, we touch down...
Not looking back
or thinking it twice.
